Art Cover Contest
Attention Exchange Students - 8th Annual Cover Design Contest!
CSIET is pleased to announce its 8th annual cover design contest!
High school exchange students inspired by their experiences are encouraged to submit artwork representing the spirit of youth exchange and how it transforms the lives of young people. The winner's artwork will be featured on the cover of the 2010-2011 Advisory List and the CSIET website. The artist's name will be mentioned in the Advisory List. In addition, the winner will receive a cash prize of $500.
ELIGIBILITY
Students participating in CSIET-listed exchange programs during the Fall 2009 semester, the Spring 2010 semester, the 2009-2010 Academic Year, the 2009 calendar year, or the 2010 calendar year are eligible.
MEDIUM
CSIET welcomes a variety of media, both designs produced by hand and computer graphic design. Special consideration will be given to creative and unique designs. CSIET asks that students submitting graphic artwork provide:
• an electronic copy on disk in the original file format (for instance, if you created the design in Photoshop, do not convert it to a .PDF file - just send the Photoshop file)
• a printed-out hard copy of the design, in color if possible (unless the design is black and white) - a graphic design can only be considered if a printed version is submitted in addition to the electronic version.
RULES & RECOMMENDATIONS
• The book cover will be 6" inches wide and 8" inches tall.
• There should be no reference to or depiction of specific exchange organizations, sports, or high school graduation in the artwork submitted.
• Please avoid emphasis on specific countries in the artwork.
• More than one entry is permitted. Each submission must be accompanied by a completed and signed copy of the entry form.
• Entries received without the application form will not qualify for the contest.
• A short written description of the artwork is welcome, but not required.
• Artwork should not incorporate the CSIET logo.
• Please make sure your name is somewhere on the artwork, either on the front or back, so that it can be identified if it is separated from the application form.
• You may not use photo images or artwork that is not your own unless you have permission to use and publish it.
• Emailed submissions will not be considered for the contest unless a hard copy of the design and signed entry form. are mailed separately.
DEADLINE
Entries must arrive at the CSIET office on or before Friday, March 12, 2010.
