Pan Atlantic Foundation is a not for profit specializing in creating high quality high school exchange programs. It is Pan Atlantic Foundation’s mission to make the world a better place for all people through educational and cultural exchange. Pan Atlantic Foundation offers inbound high school academic year and semester programs. Pan Atlantic Foundation operates through a network of Area Representatives throughout the United States who provide local support for both host families and students during their exchange experience in addition to supporting schools.
Academic Year Program - United States—International students ages 15 to 18 travel to the United States, attend school for one semester or ten months, and live with a U.S. host family. Pan Atlantic Foundation staff have extensive industry experience and have chosen to base student selection primarily on language ability and student initiative, as these are found to be the strongest indicators of student success on program. As a small sponsor, personal connections are our priority. Students and parents are interviewed prior to acceptance via a network of overseas representatives. Upon acceptance, students are required to attend a pre-departure orientation. The orientation addresses issues such as American culture, English language, program rules, and how to make the most of the U.S. high school experience.
In addition, most Pan Atlantic Foundation students are required to attend an intensive U.S. orientation course in the United States prior to their arrival in the host community. This is a three-night orientation in New York or Los Angeles. The primary focus of the arrival orientation is to acclimate students to U.S. culture, review program policies procedures and safety, and prepare them for their academic year stay. In addition, this allows for the students to meet like-minded students from around the world.
Host families are encouraged to review several students' applications before selecting the student who would most appropriately match their family's lifestyle and interests. Cost to participants is $5,000 to $7,000 including insurance and NY/LA orientation however excluding transportation and personal expenses.
