Introduction to CSIET: Member Benefits, the Listing Process, & the New CSIET Website
CSIET’s Director of Membership and Conference Programming along with CSIET’s Director of Marketing and Communications will discuss the differences between CSIET Membership and CSIET Listing. They will also provide an overview of CSIET’s audit based listing process. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn about CSIET’s step-ladder approach to evaluation of programs. Additionally, they will walk you through the new membership platform the updated CSIET Website.
Speaker: Anna Damewood, CSIET
Born in Virginia, Anna grew up appreciating the views of the blue ridge parkway and Shenandoah valley. She attended the University of Mary Washington where she earned her B.A. in International Affairs, with a minor in Middle Eastern Studies. Anna was active in COAR, UMW’s community outreach program, and worked in the school’s residence life office and with the university’s ESL program. After college, interested in international relations and the non-profit sector, she started an internship with CSIET in Alexandria, VA, which led to a full time position and later a director role. She loves exploring the DC area, backpacking, running along the Potomac, and traveling whenever possible.
Speaker: Charissa Slack, CSIET
Charissa Lopez Slack has recently joined CSIET as the Director of Marketing & Communications. She is thrilled to bring her professional experience in advertising sales and campaign management and her personal passion for cross-cultural communication to CSIET. Formerly at ESPN International and at Azteca America in New York City, Charissa worked directly with companies in Mexico, Brazil & Argentina. Charissa embraced Latin American culture, both on a personal level and in the corporate setting. At both companies, Charissa used her ability to speak both Spanish and English to translate of advertising language and served as a liaison between U.S. Ad Agencies and professional counterparts in Mexico to ensure that project expectations were properly communicated, carried out, and reported. More recently, as an Account Executive at Comcast Spotlight in Bethesda, MD, Charissa was responsible for every stage in the life of a marketing campaign, and during her time there, she earned the Star of Excellence Award and Digital Account Executive of the Year. Charissa very much enjoys working with people and has developed strong relationships with her former clients, colleagues and employees. She is a natural team player, and has trained new-hire Account Executives, Sales Coordinators and Assistants at ESPN, Azteca America and Comcast Spotlight. Charissa earned her B.A. in Business with a concentration Marketing and a double minor in Spanish and Communications at the University of Richmond. She now lives in Alexandria with her husband, Sam, and her three small children, Riker, Sebastian and Adella.
