Joy International Exchange Student is a Non-Profit organization which is dedicated to the promotion of cultural understanding, academic development and understanding of different cultures through academic home-stay programs. Joy International Exchange Students believes all understanding and tolerance begin with personal level interaction. Joy International Exchange Students offers academic programs to middle and high school international students through short and long term home-stay programs. Our academic coordinators interview and carefully screen host families, and they provide supervisions to the students. The coordinators and host families are required to submit progress reports once a month.
Academic Year Program – United States-International students aged from 14 to 18 travel to the States; attend school for either one semester or ten months, and live with a U.S. American host families. Each student must submit and satisfy the following requirements; completed application in English, pass the English proficiency tests, transcripts indicating above average grades, and write an autobiographical essay. Students and parents must be interviewed prior to acceptance. Students are encouraged to take English, U.S. History, and Geography classes at their high school prior to departure and enrollment in American schools. Upon acceptance, students are required to attend several orientations. The orientations address issues such as American culture, English language, program rules, and maximization of the study abroad experiences.
The host families are strongly encouraged to carefully review student applications prior to hosting the students who would assimilate easily and quickly to their core values.
