Job Description:

Mobility International USA (MIUSA), a national nonprofit organization founded in 1981, advances the rights and leadership skills of people with disabilities globally. MIUSA seeks a full-time Project Coordinator for the National Clearinghouse on Disability and Exchange (NCDE). Qualified candidates will have excellent research, organizational and communication skills, international experience, and passion for disability inclusion in international exchange.

This is a mid-level professional position that works on national level projects. Candidates will bring prior experience working in a related field, required qualifications, and a passion for disability rights. Description of Project:

The National Clearinghouse on Disability and Exchange (NCDE) is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) to increase participation of people with disabilities in inclusive international exchange programs. Our staff working on the NCDE provides encouragement and practical advice for individuals with disabilities and exchange professionals. By increasing knowledge and sharing strategies, we work to make sure that all international exchange programs to and from the United States implement positive, cutting-edge practices to ensure people with disabilities have an equal opportunity to fulfill their dream of international exchange.

Description of Position:
Works closely with the Project Manager and NCDE team to assist with the planning, preparation, and implementation of project tasks as assigned, including (but not limited to):

Technical Assistance & Project Support:
Responds to requests for information and technical assistance related to disability and exchange
Assists with project reports, analytics, surveys, and dissemination of materials through online platforms
Assists the NCDE team to develop new resources
Coordinates logistics for NCDE events

Outreach & Communication:
Develops initiative campaigns and disseminates through online outreach platforms
Solicits, interviews, writes or edits articles and other resources
Presents and exhibits at conferences, meetings and trainings
Coordinates production of digital, print, and video materials
Builds on existing relationships, nurtures new partnerships, and strengthens relationships with key organizations

Required Qualifications:
B.A. or B.S. degree
Demonstrated professional experience in higher education, international exchange, disability rights, or non-profit environment
Personal and/or professional experience with disability
Personal and/or professional experience with international exchange
Detail-oriented with demonstrated organizational skills
Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Demonstrated interpersonal communication and cross-cultural skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to communicate effectively via e-mail and other mediums such as telephone, Skype, video relay, and/or instant messaging
Ability to maintain a helpful, positive, and professional demeanor and exercise courtesy, professionalism, and tact in contacts with the general public
Passion for empowering people with disabilities in international contexts
Ability to travel nationally or internationally on occasion
English fluency

Desired Qualifications
Three years or more professional experience in higher education, international exchange, disability rights, or non-profit environment
Understanding of disability from a rights-based perspective
Experience with graphic design and communications or related field
Experience with social media including Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Blogs, YouTube, Flickr, etc.
Ability to write content for social media and website
Experience with Google Drive and graphic design programs such as Photoshop and InDesign
Experience with HTML, Mailchimp, Salesforce and Drupal
Experience with video production skills
Knowledge of one or more languages other than English
