Call for Proposals

The CSIET Conference Planning Committee is seeking proposals from those interested in presenting a session or roundtable discussion at our annual conference in Cleveland, Ohio with the theme:

Transparency: Together with a Clear Vision 

The Audience: Each fall, the CSIET Annual Conference provides a unique networking and learning opportunity for representatives from international youth exchange programs, secondary private and public schools, athletics associations, governmental institutions (including the US Department of State and Department of Homeland Security), and more. 

CSIET’s purpose is to cultivate excellence, to facilitate a spirit of cooperation and support, and to help ensure safety and value for international exchange students, secondary schools and natural parents.

Session topics can fall under one or more of the streams below for high schools international student programming:

J-1 Visa Exchange Programs, F-1 Visa Programs, School and District Programming, Overseas agencies

Examples of relevant, timely topics include, but are not limited to:

  •  Cross-cultural communications
  •  Exchange program management & supporting international students
  •  Toolkits for high school administrators working with international exchange programs
  •  F-1 programs in a boarding environment
  •  Recruiting practices
  •  Services & resources for international student programs
  • ‘Hot topics’ in the exchange community

Session Formats Include:

60-75-minute Plenary Session & Concurrent Sessions

60-75-minute Roundtable/Panel Discussion Sessions

30-60-minute Preconference Sessions

Please submit your proposal through the link on this page or email your topic and description to anna@csiet.org. Please include:

  • Format of Session (Presentation, Panel, Roundtable Discussions, Workshop, Etc.)
  • Summary of Session
  • Expected ‘Takeaways’ from Session
