26th Annual Conference

2010 marked the 26th CSIET Annual Conference which was held in Nashville, Tennessee on October 28-30, 2010. Nearly 160 particpants attended the three-day meeting which consisted of workshops with informative topics focusing on community best practices, legislative initiatives and school outreach opportunities. Session topics included “Darkness to Light Pre-Conference Workshop”, “Advocacy & Federal Budget Update”, “United States Department of State J Visa Session”, “Untangling the Social Web”, “International Member Accreditation”, “Local Representative Screening Workshop”, “Conducting & Evaluating Criminal Background Checks”, and “Host Family Screening & Orientation Workshop.? 2010 Conference Keynote Speaker:
Amanda Ripley, author of “The Unthinkable” and a contributing writer at TIME Magazine shared her new research initiative about how other countries have managed to create smarter, cheaper, fairer public school systems and what the United States can learn from their successes.
