Established in 2006, Private & Public School F-1 Exchange (PSE) is committed to promoting international understanding and goodwill through cultural exchange. PSE is an inbound program that places international students with an F-1 visa in high schools all around the U.S.A. We have an outstanding reputation for providing personal attention, service and support. Our dedicated staff works every step of the way with partners, students, schools, host families and coordinators to ensure a successful experience.

Trained local coordinators recruit and screen host families and provide orientation and support to families and students throughout the duration of the program. They meet with students each month and submit monthly progress reports, which are shared with the sending agencies and natural parents. Furthermore, they check in regularly with school personnel to offer assistance when needed and to obtain academic updates, which are included in the monthly reports.

PSE promotes cultural sensitivity and understanding and is a forum for diverse cross-cultural experiences that foster awareness and interest in the exchange of culture, lifestyle, language, and ideas. PSE strives to provide all program participants – international students, natural families, host families, American students, teachers and schools – with opportunities for enhanced personal growth and the establishment of lifelong friendships.

Academic Program – United States – PSE works with a diverse network of schools from which our students can select to apply. Students can elect to reenroll through PSE for multiple years and participate until graduation. Students enrolled in our public schools can attend for a maximum of one year but have the ability to transfer to a different school after their public school year is completed. PSE works closely with each school to fully support students during their program.

PSE students are recruited through our network of overseas partners. The selection process includes a confidential personal interview, English language proficiency test, health examination, and review of the student application and academic grades. Students receive both an introduction to the program and a thorough orientation before departure, and another orientation upon arrival to their host communities. Host families also receive an orientation prior to student arrival.
