Trinity Collegiate School (TCS)

TCS serves the entire Pee Dee region and enrolls students who are motivated to make the most of the program offered. In addition to a rigorous academic curriculum, the school emphasizes a personalized approach to education, a strong sense of community, and multiple opportunities for students to develop their talents and leadership skills. The creation and maintenance of a positive school community is the concern of every student, faculty member, parent, and trustee. In the final analysis, our school will be as strong as the individuals who belong and who are willing to give of themselves. The individual gains most as he gives to those around him and to the institutions in which he believes.

Since 2012 the school has steadily increased the breadth and depth of its curriculum, and now offers dozens of classes in all major disciplines, differentiated across the College Prep (CP), Honors, and AP designations. In 2016 it expanded its number of summer camps and began offering a wide variety of summer classes for high school credit. In addition to providing summertime enrichment, these classes give students a taste of the format of college-styled seminars, further complementing the school’s mission to prepare students for success at the next academic level.

A unique feature of Trinity Collegiate School’s character is its focus on equipping students to be productive members of a cosmopolitan and technology-savvy society. The school has been developing many initiatives to this end. First is its commitment to increasing diversity. A key component of this is the international student program that exposes local students to students of other cultures and vice versa. TCS has actively recruited students from across the globe, and boasts students from the Bangladesh, Belgium, Canada, China, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Republic of Korea, Lithuania, Pakistan, Sweden, Thailand, Turkey, Vietnam. From 2012-2015, international students at TCS lived with volunteer host families, but in 2015 the success of this initiative necessitated shifting to a more formalized housing situation. International students currently comprise 26 of the 358-strong student body (8%), and they participate in the school’s culture through clubs, activities, and varsity sports.

Furthermore, throughout its short history the school has been developing a dynamic and profound integration of computer technology into its curriculum to prepare its students for life in a 21st-century, digital world. In 2013 the school began its Bring Your Own Device program, which enables students to download textbooks onto laptops, iPads, and other devices, and gain access to the whole range of information on the world wide web for projects that have applications in fields from art to public speaking. It also expanded its technology course offerings by adding computer science and graphic design classes at all academic levels.

TCS opened in the 2020-2021 school year on August 20th with its largest enrollment to date of 358 students. Trinity Collegiate School is a coeducational, non-discriminatory, college-preparatory day school serving students in grades six through twelve located in Darlington, SC. Trinity Collegiate School fosters development of every student’s intellect and character through strong academics (21 AP courses combined with fine and performing arts), a wide variety of athletics (29 athletics teams), and extracurricular activities. TCS is proud that 100% of all graduates have been accepted into four-year colleges and universities. The school’s 2019 Niche.com rating is 9th of 81 private schools in the state of SC.
