Since its establishment, the International Partnership of Education Research and Communication (IPERC) has partnered with schools around the world to develop educationally sound and beneficial programs and partnerships that increase international student enrollment and promote cross-cultural communication through education. By providing unique opportunities that prepare students for global citizenship, we strive for the advancement of educational quality and mutual cooperation among the world’s nations and people.
Through the Secondary International Education service program, IPERC partners with elite day and boarding schools across the US to recruit international students. We have provided services for more than 1000 international students attending North American high schools and living with host families or in school dormitories. IPERC works with schools and agencies in China, Vietnam, South Korea, India, and many other countries to recruit international students for our partner schools. IPERC provides comprehensive support throughout the application, enrollment, and homestay matching process. We provide services before and after students arrive at our partner schools.
- Pre-arrival, IPERC assists with school finding and matching, preparation for interviews, application materials and enrollment guidance, visa application support, tuition payments, cultural orientations, summer homework, immunization assistance, course schedule guidance seminars, and obtaining health records.
- Post-arrival, IPERC’s staff will visit students and host families, provide monthly report including the academic performance and homestay experience, hold twice-yearly parent conferences, issue bilingual parent conference reports, provide student academic supervision, oversee course selection guidance and planning, monthly activities and event planning, volunteer opportunities, student re-enrollment applications, connect students with psychological/mental counseling if needed, act as an emergency contact person available 24/7 for students .
For over a decade, IPERC has built an extensive homestay network of over 500 host families to ensure that we match every student with their ideal host family. IPERC finds qualified host families who provide a safe and nurturing home environment for international high school students attending school in North America. IPERC staff will conduct Interviewed in-person with a house visit and a national criminal, civil and sex offender background check as well as reference checks for anyone over 18 years of age living in a home will be administered. Homestay materials with an application, photos of their house, and house visit notes will be documented formally. Orientations will be provided to our host families to help them know the cultural differences and expectations. IPERC host families gain a deeper understanding of how culture varies across the world and develop the kind of lifelong friendships that make our cultural exchange program valuable. Each host family will be assigned a local coordinator and a student coordinator who will work together to ensure effective communication and a safe and fun experience for everyone involved. Our host family coordinators and student coordinators are located near every IPERC partner school to provide everyday support to students during their stay in North America.
IPERC also manages a private online high school designed to pre-equip the international students with a wide range of US secondary courses from an expansive and rigorous curriculum of standard, honors, and AP courses. It can also provide course tutoring to assist students with different subjects. Our goal is to prepare international students for study in the United States and provide assurance that they meet their academic needs with personalized education experiences.
