American Councils for International Education, an international not-for-profit organization, believes the fundamental role of education is to promote positive change for individuals, institutions, and societies. Building upon over five decades of expertise, American Councils advances education and research worldwide through international programs that provide the global perspective essential for academic and professional excellence. In collaboration with partners around the world, American Councils designs, implements, and supports innovative programs in education, community outreach, and scholarly research that are responsive to the cultures and needs of the communities in which it works.
Supervision and monitoring are provided by more than 30 American Councils offices around the globe, its headquarters in Washington, D.C., and a network of local coordinators across the U.S. In addition to its high school programs, which have been evaluated by CSIET, American Councils also offers opportunities at the undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels, and professionals. American Councils recruits overseas students and arranges travel and alumni support for FLEX and YES program participants.
