Ayusa is a non-profit high school exchange organization dedicated to developing the next generation of global leaders and world citizens. Ayusa’s international exchange program invites high school students from across the globe to join American families, schools and communities. By connecting extraordinary international students with volunteer host families in the U.S., we cultivate leadership skills, develop intercultural awareness and enhance global knowledge not only through education, but through experience.
Ayusa has a broad-based network of 200 Community Representatives (CRs), overseen by a professional staff of seven nationwide Regional Managers (RMs) & Regional Support Specialists (RSSs). This field team provides placement, cross-cultural orientation, counseling, and ongoing support to students, host families, and schools. Selection criteria for students include the following: English proficiency, above-average academic performance, well-rounded interests, and evidence of maturity and adaptability. CRs interview, select and orient host families and serve as liaisons for students, host families, and schools.
Ayusa Program – International students ages 15 to 18 attend U.S. public high schools for an academic semester or year. Students live with host families and are supervised and supported by Community Representatives. Academic credit depends on host school policies. Pre-departure and arrival orientations are provided. Cost to participants depends on the country of origin.
