Boston Global Education’s goal is student’s safety and professional academic guidance to succeed in the United States. Our team of professional, qualified counselors and experienced local coordinators provide not only the best home stay and school placement, but also the best academic guidance services and resources for international students.

Academic Year Program – United States—International students ages 14 to 18 travel to the United States, attend school for one semester or ten months, and live with a U.S. host family.  Students must complete a program application, school application, English language scores from a language proficiency test, submit transcripts indicating above-average grades, and teacher recommendations.

Boston Global Education is well-versed in the different ways to help our students succeed in many aspects of their lives. To do so:

• Local Coordinators available 24/7, keep open communication with the student, parents, and host parents, and act as mediators if there is ever an issue between student and host. Boston Global Education searches for caring and dedicated families to provide comfortable accommodations, meals, and to introduce foreign students to the American way of life.
• Our Academic Supervisor helps students throughout the school year in managing their grades and helping them with their academic needs. We not only offer tutoring, but we also provide advice on choosing classes for the next academic year to help our students stay on the right track for college. We work closely with the schools to stay in touch with their teachers and to check in on student progress throughout the year.
• We offer an after-school tutoring program to students who need assistance in a particular school subject, or who want to improve their academic scores. Boston Global Education also offers SAT and TOEFL tutoring programs, to help prepare students for the standardized tests that are required for college admission. The programs are composed of a unique combination of the highest quality study materials, realistic testing experiences, and vibrant tutors who are motivated to guarantee that your scores will exceed your expectations.
• Boston Global Education’s college counseling program guides students through the complex American college application process. We help our students recognize their best abilities and provide them with guidelines to help them achieve their individual and academic dreams.

Upon arrival to the US:

• Students attend a Boston Global Education orientation. The orientations, which are conducted in August and January for new students, address issues such as American culture, English language, program rules, host family rules, and how to make the most of the U.S. high school experience.
• Local coordinators will help student prepare for school by arranging doctor appointments, buying uniforms, books, iPads, and setting up their cell phone.

By providing support for students, such as helping and guiding their studies and understanding American culture, the international students can achieve success in realizing their goals for college and their future.
