Children of All Nations currently offers a high school academic year and semester exchange program called Student Ambassador Exchange.

Student Ambassador Exchange is passionate about connecting cultures through student exchange.  The purpose of the Student Ambassador Exchange program is to provide high quality educational opportunities that promote and enhance the interchange of education, knowledge, and culture between the United States and other countries around the world.

Headquartered in Austin, Texas, Student Ambassador Exchange utilizes a network of Local Coordinators around the country to maximize the opportunities available to exchange students. Local Coordinators screen and interview potential host families, and guide students and families through the duration of the program.  In addition to checking in with students, schools and host families and submitting monthly reports, Local Coordinators also offer local cultural opportunities for exchange students.

Academic Year and Semester Program – United States: International students ages 15 to 18 travel to the United States, attend school for one semester or ten months, and live with a U.S. host family.  Students must complete an application in English, pass an English language proficiency test, submit transcripts indicating above-average grades, and write an introductory essay.  Students are interviewed prior to acceptance.  Students are encouraged to continue learning English prior to their departure.  Upon acceptance, students are required to review pre-departure orientation materials and attend an orientation with their Local Coordinator upon arrival in the United States. These materials will educate the student on what to expect during their time abroad, how to adjust to a new culture, and will highlight the program rules they are expected to follow.

Host families will also participate in an orientation prior to the student’s arrival. The Local Coordinator will guide the family through program expectations, as well as helping them understand culture shock and homesickness so that they will be able to support their student as they adjust to American culture.

Host families are encouraged to contact a Program Coordinator in order to review student profiles and choose a student who would fit in well with the family lifestyle.
