International Fellowship offers educational and cultural opportunities for secondary school students who wish to live and study in the United States or a foreign country to learn about its people, traditions, and language. International Fellowship works with the J-1 Visa Program and places exchange students in public and private high schools. We do offer other programs however; the J-1 program is the largest. We do place applicants in Canada for an additional fee.For more detailed information on all of the programs offered by International Fellowship, please contact us.

Since its founding in 1952, International Fellowship has been committed to supporting efforts for the advancement of moral and ethical standards in all aspects of life. The mission of the International Fellowship exchange program is to promote world peace and understanding among people of all nations through teenage ambassadors. It supports the philosophy, “Through Knowledge and Friendship Come Understanding and Goodwill.”

Staff members supervise and support a network of Local Representatives in the United States and abroad, screening, selecting, and matching the student applicants with prospective host families who have an interest in international exchange. Families are carefully screened and approved by Local Representatives and staff members. Program representatives in the community provide support and counseling to the student and host family throughout the student’s stay. As a smaller organization, International Fellowship has been very successful in offering prompt and personal service to our U.S. and foreign representatives, students, host families, and schools.

School Semester/Year Program Inbound — Foreign students ages 15 to 18 travel to the United States for a full school year or semester, during which time they live with a host family and attend school. Local Representatives provide pre-departure and post-arrival orientations, support, and counseling for students and host families. Cost to participants is $7,000 to $13,550, including transportation and insurance. Cost to participants, excluding transportation, is $6,300 to $6,800. The 12 Month Program January to January is $8,150 (Does Not Include the Summer Fee). Personal expenses, passport and visa fees are not included.

Direct Placement Program – Our inbound program is also available to students who may have a potential host family and/or school in mind. This is known as a Direct Placement. We provide the same services and supervision to these students and families. The student must apply through a partner agency abroad and follow the same requirements and regulations as all other incoming exchange students. The same is true regarding the acceptance, vetting, and screening of a potential host family. The potential host family may not be a relative of the student.

International Fellowship offers an optional trip to New York City and Washington DC, depending on world health and safety conditions. There is an additional fee for this trip.

Prices listed for International Fellowship do not include any overseas agency fees.
