Joy International Exchange Student is a non-profit organization committed to fostering cultural understanding, academic growth, and cross-cultural appreciation through academic homestay programs. We firmly believe that genuine understanding and tolerance stem from personal-level interactions. At Joy International Exchange Student, we provide academic programs to middle and high school international students, offering both short and long-term homestay options. Our dedicated academic coordinators conduct thorough interviews and screenings of host families, providing ongoing supervision to students. Monthly progress reports are mandatory for both coordinators and host families.
Academic Year Program – International students aged 14 to 18 journey to the United States for either one semester or ten months, residing with American host families. To qualify, each student must fulfill specific requirements: submitting a completed application in English, passing English proficiency tests, presenting transcripts demonstrating above-average grades, and composing an autobiographical essay. Prior to acceptance, both students and parents undergo interviews. We recommend that students enroll in English, U.S. History, and Geography classes at their home schools before their departure and enrollment in American institutions. Upon acceptance, students are expected to participate in several orientations covering various aspects, including American culture, the English language, program guidelines, and strategies to enhance their study abroad experiences.
Host families are strongly encouraged to thoroughly review student applications to ensure alignment with their core values.
