Newcomb Central School District is a small, family-like district located in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains in northern New York State, around 265 miles (~426 kilometers) north of New York City. We have received students since 2007 and have enjoyed having them from over 35 different countries. Our school and program have been featured in the New York Times and other major publications.

What makes our program so unique? First is our relationship and certification by CSIET, as we are one of the only public schools [in northern New York State] certified.  It was important for Newcomb to show prospective students that their care is paramount to us. Second, being a small kindergarten through 12th-grade school in a rural region, we have a small student body, allowing for closer, family-like friendships between visiting international students and our local students.

We also stand out because international students in our small school are essential to success in our clubs and programs. Everyone gets a chance to be involved! It is very common for students who have never played sports or performed in a play to have an opportunity to do these things.  Academically, we distinguish ourselves through our accomplished faculty, comprehensive STEAM curriculum, and diverse extracurricular opportunities available to all students.  Some of the STEAM activities include 3D printing, coding, and robotics. Some student clubs offered include archery, stock market club, outdoors club, trivia club, and more. All students are assigned computers for both school and home use. Lastly, our dual enrollment allows Juniors and Seniors to earn up to 15 college credits per year. These credits are acceptable at almost all programs and colleges in the United States.

If there is one thing that makes Newcomb Central School stand out, it is our family-like, highly safe atmosphere. In a town of just over 400, people know each other, but more importantly, they are there to help and support each other. Small town and school equate to becoming an integral part of the Newcomb community family.

Attending Newcomb Central School for the academic year costs $11,000, which includes tuition, fees, and housing.
