Model Practices for Supporting the Mental Wellness of International Students

CSIET recognizes the importance of equipping our international student exchange organizations with practical, student-centered approaches to mental wellness. Model Practices for Supporting the Mental Wellness of International Students is an overview of key mental wellness considerations unique to international students including practices organizations can implement to create supportive, responsive environments and guidance on prevention, early identification, and referral strategies. 

Model School Practices (BridgeUSA)

The CSIET Model School Practices for BridgeUSA Student Exchange was developed with valuable input from experienced BridgeUSA sponsors to help schools understand the benefits and process of hosting an exchange student in your public school. These suggested guiding principles will provide a foundation for local school policies and encourage every U.S. school to engage in international student exchange programs. (Revised Spring 2024)

Guidelines for Short-Term Programs
