29th Annual Conference


Shaping Leaders Through Youth Exchange

Date: October 17-19, 2013
Location: The Hotel Palomar, Phoenix, Arizona

The 29th Annual Conference was held at the Hotel Palomar in downtown Phoenix, Arizona on October 17-19, 2013. Over 160 individuals within the exchange and educational community attended, along with exhibitors. Attendees were able to network and share community exchange practices with other leaders. Sessions included international student exchange and safety topics, from information on the ELTiS, criminal background checks, federal budget updates, education outreach, and more.

Federal Budget Update and U.S. Department of State Sponsored Youth Exchanges Programs

A representative from the Alliance will provide an annual review of Federal legislation and funding initiatives for international exchange programming, along with a review of the Congressional appropriations process for upcoming funding cycle. A panel of State Department grantees and a representative from ECA?s Youth Programs Division will discuss how your organization can shape future leaders by working with State Department-sponsored high school exchange programs. Learn about funding opportunities for non-profit organizations and how you can get involved. CSIET Program members, both US based and International, are encouraged to attend this luncheon, where you can discuss partnership opportunities with the US Dept. of State as well as the latest developments with regard to federal funding of international educational exchange programs.
