Rotary Youth Exchange Southeast, Inc. offers a cost-effective long-term immersion program to students who wish to participate in exchange between more than 30 partner countries around the world and the US states of Florida and Georgia.
Rotary Youth Exchange is one of the most prestigious and successful high school exchange programs in the world. The program is administered and managed almost entirely by well-trained, unpaid volunteers who are very dedicated to helping students and host families have an enriching experience. Because of this structure, Rotary Youth Exchange is widely regarded as the most cost-effective high school exchange program. Each year, nearly 10,000 high school students around the world participate in the program. The program represents a three-year experience for high school students. In the first year, students go through a detailed selection process followed by several months of preparation and training for their exchange year. In the second year, students spend 9 – 11 months abroad in their host country, attending high school and living with carefully selected and trained host families while becoming bi-cultural and fluent in a new language. In the third year, after students have returned from exchange, they typically look to give back to the organization and serve Rotary by sharing their experience with others and helping other young people prepare for exchange.
